This Saint-Aubin meteorite is a whole fragment, preserved in its raw form. Its natural relief, metallic sheen and irregular edges bear direct witness to its passage through space before arriving on Earth.
The Saint-Aubin meteorite is thought to have hit the ground around 55,000 years ago, well before the appearance of Homo sapiens in Europe. It lay buried in the soil of the Aube region for millennia, until a farmer discovered its first piece in 1968.
In 2018, Pierre Antonin and his team carried out several prospecting campaigns. The research reveals 123 impact points, a fall ellipse measuring around 1,100 m by 900 m, and a total mass estimated at almost 6 tonnes. Thanks to this survey, Saint-Aubin officially became the largest French meteorite ever identified.
Each fragment of the Saint-Aubin meteorite has its own visual identity. This one retains its original texture, formed in space during a very slow cooling process. Variations in density and metallic zones recall its distant origin and extraterrestrial nature.
In the field of lithotherapy, some enthusiasts consider Saint-Aubin French meteorite to be a symbol of stability and endurance. It is said to represent perseverance and mental strength. These interpretations have no scientific basis, but they reinforce the symbolic interest of this rock.
The fragment is presented in a black case, designed to protect it while facilitating its display. It can be placed in a showcase, an office or a private collection. Its presence immediately catches the eye and opens the door to scientific curiosity.
