The Space Rocks – Marron Clair wooden watch combines natural materials and fragments from outer space. In our Paris workshops, we set an authentic piece of Sebkha el Melah 001, a rare meteorite renowned for its atypical composition. This contrast between warm wood and cosmic stone gives the watch a singular identity. It doesn’t seek technical complexity: it tells a story.
Research carried out in 2022 in the Wad Alhath region of Mali led to the identification of Sebkha el Melah 001. This meteorite belongs to the rare aubrite family, which is around 98% enstatite crystals. It is prized for its clear appearance, crystalline texture and low market share. As a result, each fragment set in the watch has a unique visual character.
The watch uses a light brown wood that enhances the stone without overshadowing it. The dial is sober, yet immediately eye-catching. It can be worn daily, displayed or simply observed as an object of contemplation. What’s more, its lightness makes it pleasant to wear all day long.
In the field of lithotherapy, aubrites sometimes symbolize inner research and mental clarity. Some enthusiasts believe they promote introspection and a sense of lucidity. These ideas are not based on scientific evidence, but they do enrich the perception of the fragment.
Wearing this watch is like wearing a piece of the solar system. In fact, it functions as both a gift and a first step into the world of meteorites. It invites us to look at time differently, thanks to a fragment that crossed space long before us.
