A framed lunar meteorite brings together the Moon in a photo and a real piece of the Moon. On one side, a photograph shows the craters and the relief of our satellite. On the other, a fragment of Laâyoune 003 truly comes from it. Searchers recovered this lunar meteorite in 2022 in the Sahara. The Meteoritical Society then registered it under this name.

Laâyoune 003 is a feldspathic breccia, a pale rock typical of the lunar highlands. Like all lunar meteorites, it left the Moon after an asteroid impact. Then it crossed space before it fell to Earth. Yet scientists know of only a few hundred. Moreover, nobody sells the rocks that the Apollo missions brought back.
Each fragment remains unique, so its shape varies from one frame to another.
This frame indeed pairs the image and the matter of the same body. Thus, you look at the lunar surface while you own a fragment that comes from it. You can also wear Laâyoune 003: see our lunar meteorite jewelry.
Yes. After a laboratory analysis, Laâyoune 003 joined the list of lunar meteorites of the Meteoritical Society. Besides, the certificate states its name.
Lunar meteorites remain rare and sell by the gram, often for several tens of euros per gram. A small chip is therefore enough to own an authentic piece of the Moon at a reasonable price.
This frame, or else a piece of jewelry set with the same fragment. In both cases, the certificate of Laâyoune 003 comes with the piece.
