A black-patina bronze sculpture of the tooth of the megalodon, the largest shark that ever lived, extinct about 3.6 million years ago, mounted on a rod above a black stand with an engraved gold plaque.
In stock
This bronze sculpture reproduces the tooth of the megalodon, the largest shark that ever lived, extinct about 3.6 million years ago. The massive triangle of the tooth, its root and its striations are modelled in volume; seen in profile, the sculpture reveals its sharpness.
Cast in bronze and hand-patinated, each piece shows slight variations in tone that give it character. Mounted on a metal rod above a black stand, it seems to float, like a fossil on display in a natural history museum.
On a desk, a bookshelf or in a cabinet of curiosities, it sits naturally alongside our meteorites: two ways of telling the story of the Earth and the Solar System.
