An astrophotograph of the Martian surface and a genuine NWA XXX meteorite fragment, brought together in a flat black frame.
In stock
This Mars surface photo includes a genuine fragment of the NWA XXX meteorite, set under the glass. The sober, slim flat black frame extends the black of the night sky; the fragment sits in a white disc under the glass. It is therefore a one-of-a-kind piece, both decorative and scientific.
Dunes, craters and red dust: the surface of Mars is shaped by winds and by dust storms that can engulf the whole planet. To go further, our page on the planet Mars also tells you more.
NWA XXX is a chondrite found in 2003 near Boudnib in the Moroccan Sahara (‘NWA’ stands for Northwest Africa). Stony meteorites like this one are among the oldest materials in the Solar System – about 4.5 billion years old. You can also read our article: What is a meteorite?
Thus, an astronomy lover will see it as both a decorative object and a real piece of space. Indeed, our meteorites come from members of the IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association). The certificate of authenticity also comes with the frame: it stays visible at the front, under the glass. Our guide also explains what a meteorite certificate is for. Moreover, it is a one-of-a-kind piece: you receive the exact frame pictured. Finally, La Poste delivers your parcel with care, worldwide.
