A small translucent shard of Libyan Desert Glass, presented in a box with its certificate: the most affordable way to own this desert gem.
Small Libyan Desert Glass. Libyan Desert Glass is collected in the Great Sand Sea, on the border between Egypt and Libya. Formed about 29 million years ago, it is thought to have been created by the extreme heat of a meteorite impact or airburst above the desert, which melted almost pure silica sand. A scarab carved from this glass even adorns one of Tutankhamun’s pectorals.
Each mini shard is selected for its transparency and yellow-green reflections. In its box, it is a small, original gift full of history.
