An astrophotograph of the turquoise Rosette Nebula and a genuine Campo del Cielo meteorite fragment, brought together in a large white frame 40 × 30 cm.
In stock
This starry sky wall art pairs an astrophotograph with a genuine fragment of the Campo del Cielo meteorite. In a large 40 × 30 cm format, the white frame edges the photo with a bright border that makes it the centrepiece of the room. It is therefore a one-of-a-kind piece, both decorative and scientific.
Shot in narrowband, the Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) turns turquoise here: ionised oxygen surrounds the young blue stars of cluster NGC 2244, about 5,000 light-years away in Monoceros. To go further, our page on the Rosette Nebula also tells you more.
The fragment comes from Campo del Cielo, an iron-nickel meteorite that fell about 4,000 years ago in Argentina’s Chaco Province and was reported by Spanish explorers as early as 1576. Its name means ‘field of the sky’. You can also read our article: The story of the Campo del Cielo meteorite.
Thus, an astronomy lover will see it as both a decorative object and a real piece of space. Indeed, our meteorites come from members of the IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association). The certificate of authenticity also comes with the frame: it stays visible at the front, under the glass. Our guide also explains what a meteorite certificate is for. Moreover, it is a one-of-a-kind piece: you receive the exact frame pictured. Finally, La Poste delivers your parcel with care, worldwide.
