An astrophotograph of the Sun with ISS transit and a genuine Aletai meteorite fragment, brought together in a deep black box frame.
In stock
This space station wall art pairs an astrophotograph with a genuine fragment of the Aletai meteorite. The deep black box frame adds depth: the photo and the meteorite seem to float behind the glass, like in a museum display case. It is therefore a one-of-a-kind piece, both decorative and scientific.
The line of tiny silhouettes crossing the solar disc is the International Space Station: at 28,000 km/h it passes in front of the Sun in under a second, and only a burst of shots can catch it. Our article on Sophie Adenot and the ISS also tells the story of life on board.
Aletai is an iron meteorite from the Altai region of Xinjiang, China, whose first mass was reported in 1898. Rich in iron and nickel, its fragments take on a distinctive metallic sheen in the light. You can also read our article: All about the Aletai meteorite.
Thus, an astronomy lover will see it as both a decorative object and a real piece of space. Indeed, our meteorites come from members of the IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association). The certificate of authenticity also comes with the frame: you will find it on the back. Our guide also explains what a meteorite certificate is for. Moreover, it is a one-of-a-kind piece: you receive the exact frame pictured. Finally, La Poste delivers your parcel with care, worldwide.
